Reiki
“For today only anger not,
For today only worry not,
Be grateful and humble,
Do your work with appreciation,
Be kind to all living things.”
Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki (1865-1926) developed this wonderful healing practice in Japan, in the early 1900’s.
Reiki, pronounced “ray-key”, consists of two Japanese characters. “Rei” means Universal and “Ki” which means spirit, energy, or life force. So, Reiki can be thought of as “Universal Life Energy”, which is present everywhere and in everything.
Reiki aims to bring balance. It works on all levels: physical, spiritual, and emotional.
When you receive Reiki treatment, you will typically lie down or sit comfortably, fully clothed. The practitioner will channel this Universal Life Energy through their hands near to the client’s body allowing this pure energy to enter the energy field.
During the session, you might feel warmth, tingling, or a sense of deep relaxation. This energy works to balance your body, mind, and emotions, promoting overall well-being and potentially aiding in healing.
Many people find Reiki sessions deeply calming and rejuvenating. It’s a gentle and non-invasive practice that can be a complement to other healthcare treatments you might be receiving.
Remote Reiki healing is also beneficial and is where the practitioner will tune into your energy remotely and send healing straight to your energy field.
